Taking it easy

So last night we may have killed an entire bottle  of the local whiskey while we were sitting on the rooftop. That coupled with a very intense day made us inclined to take it easy today.

After breakfast - which is always eggs, toast, and banana porridge - we headed out to find a specific tour company that does social entrepreneurship type tours, and got ourselves good and lost. We did ask for directions from time to time, but since all streets all have multiple unmarked names, we probably ended up even more lost. Still, it was great to wander around the neighborhood and do some shopping. Finally we decided to get lunch and the place had wifi so we discovered we were only two blocks from where we wanted to be. I had this weird grayish brown starchy thing with my lunch that turned out to be pretty good.

Across the street there was a small boy trying to fly a kite in an unusually still wind. Everywhere in the city there are kids trying to fly kites and since there are not large swaths of green space, people fly kites from every available surface.

After lunch we finally found the place that we were looking for. They were very helpful and we arranged tomorrow's trip to a weaving cooperative. We then did even more shopping. I am constantly amazed that all of these shops can stay in business. I am quite pleased with my purchases, though not looking forward to fitting more things in my bags.

We then headed back to the hotel in time to see a wedding procession wander by.

After reading and relaxing for a while we headed back out for the evening. Dinner was good, but afterwords we ended up in an Irish pub in time for the last half of the weekly pub quiz. We agreed that if we had been there from the start we would have crushed the competition.

All in all a good relaxing day. Tomorrow we try to do some weaving. I am optimistic that I will end up with a giant snarl of yarn.

I am very tired so signing off with a picture from our balcony.
